The strawberry hack I can't live without
And it's easier than most others I've tried
As someone who is currently eating her weight in berries, I can tell you that there is nothing more frustrating than finding moldy strawberries days into buying them.
Google ‘how to store strawberries’ and you will find a myriad of techniques- hull them, dunk in hot water, give them a vinegar bath, lay them out to dry. Seriously, who has the time for this?
This hack has changed my life, no joke. When I bring home a container of strawberries (organic whenever possible), here’s what I do, step by step
Open up the container and remove all the berries
Line the container with a paper towel (I use these Brawny tear-a-square ones that can be easily torn into half sizes)
Layer the strawberries back in the container, each layer separated by a paper towel, without too much crowding (it can help to eat a few)
Put the container in the fridge
That’s it! 3 minutes, and they usually last me a week-10 days with no mold.
Don’t worry, I reuse all the paper towels (and so should you). You could also use a muslin cloth.
Apply this technique to berries of all kinds but especially strawberries and raspberries, bagged greens, herbs, etc. You can wash them when you’re ready to cook or eat.

Great tip! I usually put them in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet, but then they take up a lot of room in the fridge. Trying this next time!
