It's easy to get disconnected from the food ecosystem when you live a typical urban lifestyle. For someone that usually orders groceries on the phone (and definitely does not have a green thumb), it was so refreshing to go to a farm and pick my own fruit and veggies, then come back home and cook a meal with them. Just a reminder to eat seasonal when you can - whether you're buying veggies from a farmer's market or growing them in your garden. When food is local and seasonal, it is more nutrient-dense and has the lowest carbon footprint. Not to mention delicious!
